I walk through the forest
The other creatures calling me scrawny and weak
None of them thought I could make a difference
Then one day a paw came down on me
I could not move as I wiggle to try to escape
A king with a large golden mane was holding me down
I screamed “If you don't kill me I shall return the favor”
He laughs and roars:
You cant help me your too weak
Too small and insignificant
But lets me go anyways
All because I humored him
I then vowed I must pay him back
And prove them all wrong
Then one day as the king was taking a stroll
Ropes and nets captured him
He yelled for help and I came
He asked me to get others to help him
But, I told him I could let him free
But he just roared
You cant help me your too weak
Too small and insignificant
But I repaid his kindness and proved him wrong
As I freed him by cutting the ropes
Hello Chad,
ReplyDeleteI found it easy to relate/see this poem as the Aesop Fable, The Lion and the Mouse, as you included many clues, and references. However, it appears here that you just rewrote the poem, and not that much allusions to the poem with yourself, but just a recital of the poem. I recommend you redo the poem, so that you can try to allude to yourself.
