Throughout my whole life my favorite genre of movies, television, and even youtube videos has always been comedy. I love the fact that comedy allows me to come home after a hard day with school or friends and allows me to sit down to watch a tv show like seinfield and just laugh at life. Back in 2007 when I first watched the youtube channel nigahiga and his video "how to be ninja" I knew that I wanted to not only enjoy and laugh at comedic videos but, I wanted to create a channel myself and make people laugh. Only one problem, I could barely use a camera and the only editing program I had was windows home editing which was not good nor compatible with any cameras I had. Then on the summer of 2010 it seemed like a blessing from god when I got into Menemac. I now had the tools to edit and the teaching to make a good video or two. In 2011 it finally happened. Me and my friends made a youtube channel and uploaded our first video. Only problem was, it was not very good or funny. The shots were crooked and I had not written a script for it so the lines were raunchy and not well thought. What I hope to do this time around is put a lot more thought into my sitcom and make the lines with more of a punch as well as get better shots and make the characters have a distinct personality. I plan to take inspiration by using some of the techniques they use in Modern Family, Seinfield, and my favorite web series Jake and Amir.
Hello Chad,
ReplyDeleteIt's a good beginning and approach to your passion - except that you did not fully answer or address the questions properly.
Your start is a good reason for your passion, and where it came from, you list details about it, and it is evident in your progress of videos and acting career. The things you could work on, is listing what sources you would use for research on your production, and things you want to know. Other than that, you have a genuine idea of the things you want to accomplish, along with evidence (Your videos, Drama in theatre, Youtube Channel), and you have a bright future ahead of you.
Good work and keep going at it!

Hi Chad and Z...
ReplyDelete*chuckle* you guys make a great team! Z's responses are spot on...great job on discussing your passion and what you hope to accomplish. What's needed are your resources.
Be sure to get that figured out because your next journal should describe and explain your research.
